Layout Inspection
Layout Inspection is the complete measurement of all part dimensions shown on the design record. A layout inspection may be required by some customers for all products annually unless another frequency is established in a customer approved control plan. Results shall be available for customer review upon request.
Lean a process of eliminating waste with the goal of creating value.
Likert Scale discrete ordinal measurement scale e.g., 5-point grading, 7-point numerical rating, verbal rating (poor, good, excellent, etc.)
Linearity is the difference in the bias values and a reference (known) value through the operating range of the gage.

Loss Function a graphical representation of the relationship between the customer's sensitivity (loss) and deviations from the target (design intent) - conducted without considering the specifications.
Lot A collection of output(s) from which a sample is to be drawn and inspected to determine conformance with the standard.
Lusser's Law is a prediction of reliability named after Robert Lusser. It states that the reliability of a series system is equal to the product of the reliability of its component subsystems, if their failure modes are known to be statistically independent. This method is similar to the mathematical multiplication principle.
